Wrightstown Township has declared a snow emergency beginning at 10pm on Saturday, February 21,2026, through 6AM on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. The Township Building Office will be closed on Monday, February 23rd. We will post about the Board Meeting by 1PM on Monday.
What does this mean?
After a snow emergency is declared, it shall be unlawful at any time during the continuance of the emergency for any person:
1. To place snow or ice from property occupied by such person onto the cartway or travel portion of any public road or street in the Township or to cause or permit another to commit such acts by means whatsoever including the operation of a snowplow, snow blower or other device.
2. It shall further be unlawful for any person to obstruct the cartway or travel portion of any public road or public street in the Township by any means, including the parking or abandoning of any motor vehicle, trailer, machinery or other contrivance on the travel portion or cartway of any public street or road. The Police Department servicing Wrightstown Township shall have the authority to remove any such obstructions.
Our Public Works Team has been actively preparing for this sizable storm all week and they are ready for whatever comes our way this weekend!
As snow begins to accumulate, the Township concentrates on certain roads. The first streets that receive attention are the major roads (or "Priority One" roads). As long as the snow keeps falling, the Township's first priority is to keep the main roads open and passable. In such instances, it is unlikely that residential roads will be reached immediately, because the main roads must be repeatedly plowed and kept open. High priority is also given to the clearing of major streets so that emergency vehicles can gain access to all parts of the Township. As soon as all major streets are clear, equipment is immediately moved into residential areas.
Please help our public works team and our first responders by following these tips:
- Remove all vehicles from the roadway for the duration of the storm- no parking on any roadways in the Township- no exceptions! We have asked this in the past and unfortunately it has not been followed by everyone- this is the last warning that any vehicle left on the roadway will be towed - this hinders our plow operations and is dangerous. Please park all of your vehicles in your driveways!
- If you do not need to be out, please stay off the roadways- it makes it easier for our public works crews to keep the roadways clear.
- Please keep your distance from our plow trucks as they are working to keep the roadways clear.
- No snow or ice should be deposited back on the roadways- if you or your contractor is plowing your driveways, please keep the snow on your property and do not plow it across a roadway- this can leave snow and ice on the roadways and cause a hazard.
- Please be considerate of your neighbors- please shovel the snow onto your property not your neighbors.
